Vacation Student Program 2019 | Expression of Interest


The Roy Hill Summer Vacation Student Program will be running again this year. As in previous years, we will be offering the opportunity for talented university students to complete a 3 month paid vacation program and be a part of our high performing iron ore business. This opportunity offers students the chance to utilise their skills acquired through their studies and gain hands-on experience.


In keeping with previous years we wish to offer this opportunity to family members, friends and close acquaintances of our staff.

The 2019 Roy Hill Summer Vacation Program will run between 25 November 2019 -  14 February 2020, offering penultimate year (preferred) students undertaking studies in the disciplines listed below:


  • Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mine, Chemical, Civil, Project, Mechatronics or Metallurgical)
  • Demand/Supply Chain
  • Surveying
  • Finance / Accounting
  • Commercial Contracts
  • Human Resources
  • Legal
  • Mine Geology
  • Environmental Science
  • Data Science
  • Information Technology
  • Health & Safety
  • Community Relations

Students will have an opportunity to work at one of the following locations: Perth Office, Mine, Processing Plant and Port Hedland.

You will be a student currently in your final year or second last year of a university degree.

  • Those that qualify will progress through to an online video interview stage (via Sonru).
  • Further shortlisting of applications will take place and then 1:1 hiring leader interviews with successful candidates will be arranged.
  • Pre-employment assessments may apply for some roles.
